4.1.1. Primary references

q Mk 1:4: John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for (eis = into)[55] the remission of sins.

q Mk 1:8: I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit[56]

q Mk 1:9: Jesus … baptized by John in the Jordan.

q Mk 1:10, 11: and immediately coming up from the water He saw … Spirit descending … then a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”[57]
